About JourneyMarketing
JourneyMarketing is for small to mid-sized businesses, who don't have a big marketing team. JourneyMarketing is all about help for self-help. You get pragmatic help in developing a Marketing Plan, the right Marketing Plan for you, with the right priorities for your current situation.

Honest question: Do you actually have a Marketing PLAN for your business? Or are you all over the place with your Marketing activities?
Do you know what kind of Marketing ist most important in your current, very specific business situation? Do you have clear objectives and priorities in place? Or are you mostly doing trial & error, a bit of this and a bit of that? A bit of website, a bit of eMails, a bit of Social Media, a bit of tradeshows, etc., etc.? Is it a pretty wild mix of different activities and ideas from team members or agencies?
If you now think „yes, this sounds a little bit like us“, then here is the hard truth: much of your time and money for Marketing is probably wasted, giving you very little of the results that you really need. Without a proper plan, without clear objectives and priorities, you are simply not able to decide on the right marketing activities. It‘s a simple truth, but really hard when there are so many Marketing possibilities that all sound important and like a good idea. The hard part is to decide what not to do. You want to do less, but the right things with full focus and more impact.
This is a truly universal problem for companies of all shades and sizes, even for those with big, international marketing departments and siloed marketing responsibilities. But it‘s especially difficult for those smaller companies without dedicated marketing experts or teams in place.
As this has been a recurrent theme for me in all my years and different roles as a marketing professional, marketing consultant or marketing leader, I want to give help with JourneyMarketing. I give help for self-help. I provide simple step-by-step guidance and templates for you to build your own Marketing Plan that defines the right priorities and the right objectives in your specific, current situation.
You will quickly get to know my core approach: Customer Journey Marketing.
Hi, I'm Lukas du Bois
I have worked and researched in various Marketing roles for more than 15 years, in Germany and abroad. I have been working as marketing consultant, marketing manager, head of marketing and entrepreneur. Now I am based in Munich, currently leading the Global Brand Communication for Bosch/Siemens HomeCare division (@BSH). I never became a true specialist in any particular discipline. Instead, I guess I became what you call a Marketing generalist.
All in all, a good mix of high-level strategy setting and hands-on, operational project work. I value my diverse experiences from large and complex, multi-national cooperations, medium-sized companies, all the way to small entrepreneurial teams.

Along the way, I have come to realize that the biggest Marketing challenge for businesses of all kinds, is to get the priorities right and to focus. To grow your business, you need to navigate through today’s Marketing jungle and figure out what will really help your business most in your specific situation. Too often, we end up doing “the normal stuff” or random activities without really understanding their impact on our business. Too often, we waste time and money like this. Sounds quite obvious, but is really hard to get right.
I hope you will find examples and situations in my articles that you can relate to. I also offer advisory to support you on any of the topics I discuss here. Typically these are joint planning sessions or a joint workshop with your team to get things going. I always act as a facilitator and moderator, giving structure, asking questions, offering inspiration. But I find it important that you make your own decisions in the end. It's your business, you know it best. You will need to execute the marketing actions defined and you need to stand behind them.

Happy reading and successful Marketing!
